 JOHN PITTMAN  was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Erasmus Hall High School. At the age of 15 his training in the martial arts began  to unfold while studying Shotokan karate under RENE' SENSEI at the TONG DOJO karate school in Brooklyn. GRAND MASTER GEORGE COFIELD and GRAND MASTER THOMAS

LA PUPPET were the chief instructors. He also studied NESI GOJU RYU under ROSENSTEIN SENSEI also in BROOKLYN.John attended college in Virginia where he played basketball his freshman year and would continue to study and teach SHOTOKAN karate. After college  John moved back to New York and became a professional   model. While appearing in several national magazines, catalogs and doing runway fashion shows, the acting bug bit. He decided to move to Los Angeles California to follow his dream of  becoming  an actor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As a young black belt, his love for the martial arts  continued to grow and feed his burning desire to learn more. Being a very passionate young man, It didn't ta ke long for him to realize his journey in the martial arts was becoming much more spiritual than he could have ever imagined. His definitive studies would come under Shotokan GRAND MASTER JERRY BELL, who founded the BLACK RYU FEDERATION. He was taught in detail, weapons, strategies and principles of combat on an advanced level. Enduring the crucial training necessary to develop a warrior's inner power.  He learned to concentrate all of his energy into a single force. The secret of the BUSHIDO.
